"What is Blue Light and How it Effects Vision/ Sleep?"If you haven’t heard of adverse effects of blue light, then you might be wondering what the heck this is. Blue Light is in the range of visible spectrum that a human eye can see and retrieve. As compared to other lights, blue light has the shortest wavelength i.e. 400 to 495 nanometers. Below this wavelength is the spectrum of UV light (Ultraviolet) that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Having the lowest wavelength means that blue light exerts more energy on the subject hence causing drastic effects on photo-receptor cells resulting in loss of vision/ sleep." EYE EXERCISES (Bates) 😊
There are arguments on both sides of the Bates method. I like the eye exercises, for myself. I do not recommend looking at the sun unless your eyes are closed completely. Still I found the eye exercises strengthened my eye muscles and alleviated my astigmatism. My eye doctor told me my glasses must have been prescribed wrongly as he said, I, "did not need glasses," after I had been doing the exercises for a couple of months. I am not a medical doctor and do not wish to advise you on any medical condition. I do recommend Bates' book as good reading into understanding the history of eye care. Anything on any of my web pages is for educational purposes. I encourage educating yourself and becoming a critical thinker regarding your own health care and discussions with your medical team about your health. |

This page is under development. I am pulling together research articles, videos, products and books that I personally have found helpful for preserving and/or improving my vision, or that of my family members. (For example: Dad's wet & dry, macular, & glaucoma disappeared in 6 mo of 40 mg lutein, astaxanthin per bottle dose, xeaxanthin per bottle dose and 1/2 c of carrots/blueberries every day Together with exercise bike and Oxygen, per his doctor; I used to wear eyeglasses and have astigmatism before doing eye exercises. Now no problems.)
"Nutritional supplements containing lutein and zeaxanthin, lipoic acid, and omega-3 fatty acids are effective in preventing the development of retinopathy among diabetic rats, according to a study."
